The American Dream

"What's that I smell in the air?...the American dream" a famous line from the song "The American Dream" from the musical Miss Saigon.

I received my US visa last Thursday. I was nervous, excited and at the same time felt butterflies in my stomach as I opened the Air21 envelope. At last...I'm going to the USA. Eversince I was a child, I dreamt of going to the States. You know, to see Disneyland, Hollywood & the Statue of Liberty. But I'm not going there just for fun, my real purpose is to take the National Physical TherapyExam. I prepared for this, I spent a lot of time, money and effort to get where I am right now. I even swallowed my pride just to ask for some financial help! Someone refused but another one saved me. I firmly believe that I will be an "RPT" because I have what it takes, I know what it takes & I will do what it takes.

I hope that God will enlighten me, I'm praying that He will guide me through my journey. I know that right now, He is trying to reposition my life and I believe that the devil will attack anytime soon just to ruin everything. Faith can move mountains they say, so help me God!

Binibining Pilipinas 2008 calls it quits

Janina San Miguel, who became a YouTube celebrity after the national contest, resigned to the crown for personal reasons

MANILA, Sep. 30 - The Philippines' controversial representative to the 2008 Miss World beauty pageant, Janina San Miguel, has resigned, Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BCPI) said late Monday.

San Miguel won the Binibining Pilipinas contest last March despite having difficulty answering a judge's question in English.

"Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) regrets to announce that Ms. Janina San Miguel has resigned as official representative to the 2008 Miss World beauty pageant," the firm said in a brief statement released by Belle Baldoza, public relations officer of the Araneta Group.

"The untimely demise of her grandfather, among other personal reasons, has caused her undue stress, thus hindering her from fulfilling her duties for the said title," the BPCI said.

San Miguel's answer during the pageant, in cracked English, was immediately uploaded on YouTube and she became an instant celebrity.

It led to a national debate on whether only Filipinos who can speak English well deserve to win beauty contests.

Some language experts praised her for being able to give an answer to the question, saying Filipinos should not be embarrassed if they don't speak a foreign language well. They noted that many beauty contestants of other nations often answer in broken English but they would not be criticized by their own countrymen.

They said San Miguel was like Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao who is not embarrassed about speaking English despite his shortcomings on the language.

"In accordance with BPCI rules and regulations, 1st Runner-Up Danielle Castaño will replace Ms. San Miguel as the official Philippine representative to the Ms. World 2008 pageant," it added.

"BPCI wishes to express its gratitude to Ms. San Miguel for this act of graciousness and concern for the country. They also wish her well in her future endeavors," the company said.

The 2008 Miss World contest was supposed to take place in the Ukraine on October 4th; political reasons moved the pageant to South Africa in December.

Wacky Beauty Tips That Work

Toothpaste on a zit? Vinegar in your hair? Some of that ridiculous-sounding advice you've heard in passing is really right on

By Cosmopolitan

You've been told this line before: "Okay, I know it's weird but ..." What follows is surprising advice — about anything from clearing up a zit to taming a flyaway — that totally does the trick. Call it word-of-mouth beauty. Sure, these tips might sound strange at first ("You put diaper cream where?!"), but there's a logic to them. We rounded up tons of such pointers (from pros as well as real girls) and tested them at Cosmo. Though a few clunkers had to be kicked to the curb, all the rest, presented here, are real gems.

1. Powder Your Roots
If your hairline starts to look greasy, dig up a big, fluffy makeup brush, and dip it into a pot of loose powder. Tap it once on the back of your hand to remove the excess, then dust it over your roots. It mops up oil and blends into your strands, so no one will know you didn't shower.

2. Scent Strands with Perfume
Spray a light shot of fragrance into the bristles. Run it through strands from roots to ends and your hair will smell amazing throughout the day.

3. Cure Calluses with Vaseline
Slather on the petroleum jelly, and put on socks before bed to dissolve tough calluses overnight.

4. Spot-Treat Smudges
Dip a cotton swab in eye-makeup remover, and trace it along your lids to erase any slipups or goofs when there's no time to redo your whole look.

5. Fix a Flushed Face
If you turn red and stay that way after exercising (like seriously red for hours, even though you're healthy and hydrated), take an antihistamine like Benadryl when you leave the gym to reduce redness.

6. Soften Your Bod with Avocado
Take a ripe avocado, remove the pit and skin, and mash it up in a bowl. Slather it all over your body, let it sit for 20 minutes, then rinse off. Your skin will be so soft — avocado is a natural moisturizer.

7. Super-Glue a Nail
Instead of tearing off your nail when it breaks, put a tiny dab of Super Glue over the split, and paint a generous layer of your favorite nailpolish shade over it. Go for an opaque option (like red, purple, or coral) to camouflage and seal the crack.

8. Use Makeup Remover on Stubborn Lipstick
Don't try to rub off red lipstick (which makes it smear across your mouth — not so sexy). Instead, take a cotton ball or tissue, dip it in makeup remover, and just dab to erase the dark stain fast.

9. Tame Brows with Eye Cream
Pat any kind of rich eye cream over brows to help keep them hydrated and banish those icky white specks that look like dandruff.

10. Buff with Baking Soda
If you find yourself streaking (not glowing) after applying self-tanner, put some baking soda on a loofah, and scrub away the stripes.

11. Brush on Hair Spray
For the final step of your blow-dry, spray hair spray onto your brush, and run it through strands from roots to tips. This way, your do isn't so plastered and stiff but still holds volume and shine.

12. Boost Body Lotion with Baby Oil
If you're craving shiny legs that aren't greasy, blend a drop of baby oil into your normal body lotion for extra luster.

13. Dab Essential Oil on a Hangnail
Put on apricot oil, the kind found in health-food stores, to protect cuticles from turning rough and raggedy.

14. Quell a Cold Sore with Cream
When a cold sore is coming on, dab a bit of thick moisturizer, like Aquaphor, over it to prevent it from getting worse.

15. Freeze Your Eyeliner
If the tip of your eyeliner pencil crumbles and smears on your lids, store the liner in the freezer for 15 minutes before use so the tip is firm and goes across your skin smoothly.

16. Use Toothpaste on a Zit
Use just a pea-size amount. Let sit for 15 minutes to absorb the oil so the pimple won't get more clogged, then wash off.

17. Heat Up Your Curler
If you have stick-straight lashes, try blasting your metal eyelash curler with a hair dryer for a couple seconds to heat it up so your lashes bend more easily. And use a waterproof mascara. The formula dries faster than other mascaras, so it sets the curl more effectively.

18. Use Soap Without Water
You know those fancy bars that are actually too pretty to use? Toss them in your underwear or tee-shirt drawers to make your skin smell delicious.

19. Groom Brows with a Toothbrush
Mist an (unused!) toothbrush or eyebrow comb with hair spray to help flatten and tame unruly brows.

20. Put Diaper-Rash Cream on Dry Spots
Slather on a thick layer of diaper-rash cream to heal cracked elbows and feet.

21. Lubricate Your Lashes
An easy way to draw attention to your eyes without putting on a pile of makeup is to comb petroleum jelly lightly through the tips of eyelashes to get a sexy, subtle sparkle.

22. Spike Lotion with Bronzer
If you don't have time to book a self-tanning session, mix a few pumps of body bronzer with regular hand lotion and pat it on your legs for a gradual dose of sexy, beachy color.

23. Air-Dry Your Curls
Let your hair dry indoors before going out in the cold. The curls will be really bouncy and piecey-perfect.

24. Press a Tea Bag on Splotches
If your skin is sensitive or just looking irritated and puffy for some reason, steep a bag of green tea for a minute or two, let it cool down, and dab it over your face. The antioxidants in the tea take down inflammation.

25. Shave with Conditioner
Ran out of shaving cream? Do double duty by coating your stems with a thick hair conditioner. It softens the hair so it's easier to shave off and makes legs feel amazingly silky.

26. Amp Shine with Vinegar
Mix one part vinegar with four parts carbonated water, and soak dry hair. Leave on for 15 minutes before you shampoo to lock in shine and combat dullness.

27. Exfoliate Your Pits
If your underarms start to look dry and flaky, an easy trick is to exfoliate them with a gentle face scrub to keep that skin pretty when going sleeveless.

28. Customize Your Body Lotion
Instead of shelling out for an expensive perfumed body product, you can make your own by pouring a few drops of fragrance into any scent-free lotion. Rub it on-the scent will last for hours.

29. "Brush" with Mouthwash
If you're too wiped out after a late night of partying to clean your teeth, rinse with water and mouthwash, then use a dry toothbrush on the area where your teeth hit your gums.

30. Make an Egg-White Mask
To revive tired, dull skin without hitting the spa table, try this: Crack open an egg in a bowl, separate the yolk, and use the egg whites to make a face mask. The proteins help to heal and restore skin's moisture. Leave it on for five minutes, and rinse off.

7 DEADLY SINS

Lust - (or lechery) is usually thought of as involving obsessive or excessive thoughts or desires of a sexual nature. Unfulfilled lusts sometimes lead to sexual or sociological compulsions and/or transgressions including (but obviously not limited to) sexual addiction, adultery, bestiality, rape, and incest.

Gluttony -Derived from the Latin gluttire, meaning to gulp down or swallow, gluttony is the over-indulgence and over-consumption of anything to the point of waste.

Avarice - (or greed, covetousness) is, like lust and gluttony, a sin of excess. However, greed (as seen by the church) is applied to the acquisition of wealth in particular.

Sloth - (laziness) More than other sins, the definition of sloth has changed considerably since its original inclusion among the seven deadly sins. In fact it was first called the sin of sadness or despair. It had been in the early years of Christianity characterized by what modern writers would now describe as melancholy: apathy, depression, and joylessness — the last being viewed as being a refusal to enjoy the goodness of God and the world he created.

Wrath - (or anger) may be described as inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger. These feelings can manifest as vehement denial of the truth, both to others and in the form of self-denial, impatience with the procedure of law, and the desire to seek revenge outside of the workings of the justice system (such as engaging in vigilantism) and generally wishing to do evil or harm to others.

Envy - (jealousy) Like greed, envy is characterized by an insatiable desire; they differ, however, for two main reasons. First, greed is largely associated with material goods, whereas envy may apply more generally. Second, those who commit the sin of envy desire something that someone else has which they perceive themselves as lacking.

Vanity - In almost every list pride ( or hubris or pride) is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and indeed the ultimate source from which the others arise. It is identified as a desire to be more important or attractive than others, failing to give compliments to others though they may be deserving of them, and excessive love of self (especially holding self out of proper position toward God).

Vicente Sotto Hospital Scandal

In my humble opinion, I think that this is unethical & very unprofessional. As part of the medical allied health care team, I believe that we should respect the rights our patient. Revoke their license, they don't deserve a second chance.

American Idol says Malu-Bye to Ramiele

I was so devastated when Ramiele was eliminated tonight. She's one of my favorites and I have high hopes for her. Like the judges said "good vocals but bad song choices". Well, I still wish her the best of luck.

'Earth Hour' to plunge millions into darkness

SYDNEY (AFP) - Twenty-six major cities around the world are expected to turn off the lights on major landmarks, plunging millions of people into darkness to raise awareness about global warming, organisers said.
'Earth Hour' founder Andy Ridley said 371 cities, towns or local governments from Australia to Canada and even Fiji had signed up for the 60-minute shutdown at 0900 GMT on March 29.
"There are definitely 26 (cities) that we think, if it all goes to plan, we are going to see a major event of lights going off," he told AFP.
Cities officially signed on include Chicago and San Francisco, Dublin, Manila, Bangkok, Copenhagen and Toronto, all of which will switch off lights on major landmarks and encourage businesses and homeowners to follow suit.
Ridley said it was also likely that other major European cities such as Rome and London, and the South Korean capital Seoul, although not officially taking part, would turn off lights on some attractions or landmarks.
The initiative began in Sydney last year and has become a global event, sweeping across 35 countries this year.
From 8:00 pm local time in Sydney, the energy-saving campaign will see harbourside icons such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House bathed only in moonlight, restaurant diners eat by candlelight and city skyscrapers turn off their neon signs.
Organisers hope the initiative will encourage people to be more aware of their energy usage, knowing that producing electricity pollutes the atmosphere through the burning of fossil fuels which are contributing to global warming.
But they are also aware that it will be just a small step in solving the problem of rising temperatures around the globe.
"Switching the lights off for an hour is not going to make a dent in global emissions," organiser Charles Stevens, of the environmental group WWF, told AFP.
"But what it does do is it is a great catalyst for much bigger changes. It engages people in the processes of becoming more energy efficient."
Stevens said the initiative encouraged businesses to be more careful with their electricity use while at the same time sending "a fairly powerful message to governments that people are demanding action."
Some 2.2 million people participated in last year's 'Earth Hour' in Sydney, cutting the central business district's energy usage by more than 10 percent.
While no cities from China or India are involved this year, Stevens said it was hoped that the movement would expand in 2009, which he said would be a particularly significant year given that it is the deadline for United Nations talks to determine future action on climate change after the Kyoto Protocol.
Ridley, who began 'Earth Hour' last year while working with WWF Australia, said the initiative was about individuals and global companies joining together to own a shared problem -- climate change.
"Governments and businesses are joining individuals, religious groups, schools and communities in this terrific movement that's all about making a change for the better," he said.
"It's staggering to see so much support from across the globe in just our second year and we're hoping that this will continue to grow year after year."
Cities officially involved in 'Earth Hour' include Aalborg, Aarhus, Adelaide, Atlanta, Bangkok, Brisbane, Canberra, Chicago, Christchurch, Copenhagen, Darwin, Dublin, Hobart, Manila, Melbourne, Montreal, Odense, Ottawa, Perth, Phoenix, San Francisco, Suva, Sydney, Tel Aviv, Toronto and Vancouver.

Miss Universe Gone Wild???

Hey, it's not every day you get the chance to see the universe without her clothes on, unless you have a subscription to Playboy Mexico edition. Well, she's Alicia Machado - the bubbly, energetic & beautiful Venezuelan who bagged the most prestigious beauty title of all - Miss Universe - in 1996. She made headlines when she was almost "strip-off" her title because she gained weight during her reign. But was able to retain it, after shedding those extra pounds before the coronation night of the following year.

So what's up with her? Hmmmm...nothing much. Aside from being a well-known actress & product endorser in the Latin countries. She was involved in a scandal where she was filmed having sex with one of the participant in a reality-based show which prompted her then fiancee to broke off their engagement. Just 2 years ago, she became the first-and-only Miss Universe who posed nude for Playboy. She even mentioned that she will send a copy to Donald Trump.

During the question-and-answer portion in the semi-final round, Maud Adams asked her if she could choose only one, would she rather be smart, rich or beautiful. She said that she would choose to be smart because she can also be rich & be beautiful just by being smart. She also said that if she's smart she can develop herself internally & with that, she can develop it to many other things.
Very well said, but with what's happening with her life right now, I hope that she could have applied these principles.

5 Foods for Healthier Skin

You can invest half your paycheck in serums and creams - even splurge on dermal fillers and pricey facials - but none of it will get you far without a skin-friendly diet.

Of course, your skin (and the rest of you, for that matter) is best served by a well-rounded diet, including healthy fats, sufficient protein, and lots of fruits and vegetables. But there are a few nutritional standouts that make particularly important contributions to strong, glowing skin:

1. Fish: Fatty fish like salmon, tilapia, and cod are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. And that's a good thing, because our bodies cannot produce those essential lipids naturally. By adding omega-3s to your diet, though, you can bolster your skin barrier - that is, the layer of lipids that holds onto moisture and keeps irritants out.
There is even evidence that the skin-strengthening effects of omega-3s can improve chronic skin conditions like rosacea and atopic dermatitis, but more research is necessary to confirm that link. Furthermore, many types of fish (like, once again, salmon and cod) are rich in vitamin D - as dermatologists increasingly emphasize sun avoidance, we also need to emphasize the importance of finding other sources of this vitamin, which is produced during sun exposure.
Don't eat fish? Many eggs are now fortified with omega-3 fatty acids, and plant sources include flax seed and flax seed oil, walnuts, pecans, and hazelnuts. And a daily vitamin D supplement is a good idea for vegans and meat-eaters alike.

2. Green Tea: It's inexpensive, easy to add to your routine, and one of the best-researched and most powerful antioxidants around. That's why green tea is my go-to antioxidant: I drink at least three cups a day to fight aging and inflammation. Some studies even suggest that the antioxidants in green tea reduce one's risk of skin cancer. So put down that soda and start drinking your way to healthier skin!

3. Broccoli: Rich in vitamins A, C, and K (among many other nutrients), this veggie does more than its fair share of nutritional work. Vitamin A decreases oil production, vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant, and vitamin K can help prevent bruises. So whatever ails you, this green wonderfood might be just what the doctor ordered.

4. Safflower or Sunflower Oil: Omega-3s get a lot more talk, but omega-6 fatty acids - like the linoleic acid in these two oils - are also important for healthy skin. Like omega-3s, they help prevent dry skin and inflammation; they're also essential for the formation of prostaglandins, hormones that keep all the cells of the body functioning well.
While many diets are actually quite high in omega-6s - sometimes even too high - the key is to get the good ones and not unhealthy versions, like hydrogenated oils. So try sautéing your salmon or broccoli in a little safflower or sunflower oil and double those skin-soothing benefits!

5. Almonds: When it comes to boosting skin's defenses against aging, inflammation, and even
skin cancer, antioxidants are so important that I'm going to add another to my list: A handful of almonds every day boosts your levels of vitamin E, one of the most important antioxidants for skin health. Studies also suggest that consuming vitamin E orally can increase the levels of this moisturizing vitamin on your skin's surface - great news for anyone prone to dry skin.

Wishing you great skin (and bon appetit)!

Doctors' Advice

A woman accompanied her husband to the doctor's office.
After the check-up, the doctor took the wife aside and
said, "If you don't do the following, your husband will
surely die".

1.Each morning, fix him a healthy breakfast and send
him off to work in a good mood.

2.At lunch time, make him a warm, nutritious meal and
put him in a good frame of mind before he goes back
to work.

3.For dinner, fix an especially nice meal, and don't
burden him with household chores.

4.Have sex with him several times a week and satisfy
his every whim.

On the way home, the husband asked his wife what the doctor
had told her.

"You're going to die," she replied.

Oscar Nominee - Heath Ledger Dead

NEW YORK - Heath Ledger, the talented 28-year-old actor who gravitated toward dark, brooding roles that defied his leading-man looks, was found dead Tuesday in a Manhattan apartment, face-down and naked at the foot of his bed with prescription sleeping pills nearby, police said.
There was no obvious indication that the Australian-born Ledger had committed suicide, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said.
Ledger’s publicist, Mara Buxbaum, issued a statement this Tuesday night, saying, “We are all deeply saddened and shocked by this accident. This is an extremely difficult time for his loved ones and we are asking the media to please respect the family’s privacy.”

PERSPECTIVE

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live.
They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.
On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"
"It was great, Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah," said the son.
"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.
The son answered:
"I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.
We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.
Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.
We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.
We buy our food, but they grow theirs.
We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."
The boy's father was speechless.
Then his son added, "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are."
Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.
Appreciate every single thing you have, especially your friends!
Pass this on to family, friends and acquaintances and help them refresh their perspective and appreciation.
"Life is too short and good friends are too few."

Six Ways of Thinking "Rich" by T. Harv Eker

Rich people have a way of thinking that is different from poor
and middle class people. They think differently about money,
wealth, themselves, other people, and life. Let’s examine six
crucial differences between how rich people think and how poor
or middle class people think.
By doing so, you will have some alternative beliefs in the files
of your mind from which to choose. In this way, you can catch
yourself thinking as poor people do and quickly switch over to
how rich people think.
Remember, beliefs are not right, wrong, true or false, they're
just past opinions which can be changed on your command. The
fact is, you can CHOOSE to think in ways that will support you
instead of ways that don't.
1. RICH PEOPLE BELIEVE "I CREATE MY LIFE."Poor people believe "Life happens to me."
If you want to create wealth, it is imperative that you believe
that you are at the steering wheel of your life; that you create
every moment of your life, especially your financial life. If
you don't believe this, then you must believe you have little
control over your life and that financial success has nothing to
do with you. That is not a very rich attitude.
Instead of taking responsibility for what's going on in their
lives, poor people choose to play the role of victim. Of course,
any "victim's" predominant thought process is "poor me." And
presto, through the law of intention that's literally what they
get; "poor," as in money, me.
Here's some homework I promise will change your life. For the
next seven days, I challenge you not to complain at all. Not
just out loud, but in your head too. I've given this little
challenge to thousands of people and several hundred have
personally told me that this exercise completely transformed
their lives. I invite you to email me with the results of this
experiment. I guarantee you'll be astonished as to how amazing
your life will become when you stop focusing on the "crap."
It's time to decide. You can be a victim OR you can be rich, but
you can't be both. It's time to take back your power and
acknowledge the fact that you create every moment of your life.
That you create everything that is in your life and everything
that is not in it. That you create your wealth and you create
your non-wealth and everything in between.
2. RICH PEOPLE PLAY THE MONEY GAME TO WINPoor people play the money game not to lose.
Poor people play the money game on defense rather than offense.
Let me ask you, if you were to play any sport or any game
strictly on defense, what are the chances of you winning that
game? Most people agree; slim and none.
Yet, that's exactly how most people play the money game. Their
primary concern is survival and security, not wealth and
abundance. So, what is your goal? What is your real objective?
What is your true intention?
Rich people's big goal is to have massive wealth and abundance.
Poor people's big goal is to have "enough to pay the bills..."
on time would be a miracle! Again, let me remind you of the
power of intention. When your objective is to have enough to pay
the bills, that's exactly how much you'll get; just enough to
pay the bills and usually not a cent more. You get what you
truly intend to get. If you want to get rich, your goal has to
be "rich." Not just enough to pay the bills and not just enough
to be comfortable. Rich, darn it, rich!
3. RICH PEOPLE ARE COMMITTED TO BEING RICHPoor people are uncommitted to being rich.
Most of us have good reasons as to why it would be wonderful to
be rich, but what about the other side of the coin? Are there
reasons why it might not be so great to be rich or go through
the process of trying to get rich?
Each of us has a file on wealth in our mind. This file contains
our personal beliefs that include why being wealthy would be
great. But for many people, their file also includes information
as to why being rich might not be so great. These people have
mixed internal messages around money and especially wealth.
One part of them says, "Having more money will make life a lot
more fun." But then another part screams, "Yeah, but "I'm going
to have to work like a dog! What kind of fun is that?" One part
says, "I'll be able to travel the world." then the other part
responds, "Yeah, and everyone in the world will want something
from me." These mixed messages are one of the biggest reasons
that most people never become rich.
In fact, the #1 reason most people don't get what they want is
they don't know what they want. Rich people are totally clear
they want wealth. They are unwavering in their desire. They are
fully committed to creating wealth. They will do "whatever it
takes" to have wealth as long as it's moral, legal and ethical.
Rich people do not send mixed messages to the universe. Poor
people do.
I hate to break the news to you, but getting rich is not a
"stroll in the park." It's takes focus, expertise, 100% effort,
and "never say die" perseverance. You have to really commit to
it, both consciously and subconsciously. You have to believe in
your heart you can do it and you deserve it. If you are not
fully committed to creating wealth, chances are you won't.
4. RICH PEOPLE THINK BIGPoor people think small.
We once had a trainer teaching at one of our seminars who went
from a net worth of $250 thousand to over $600 million in only 3
years. When asked his secret he said, "Everything changed the
day I began to think big." In my book, SpeedWealth, I discuss
the "Law of Income" which states that "you will be paid in
direct proportion to the value you deliver according to the
market place."Another way of understanding this is to answer the following
question: How many people do you actually serve or affect?
For instance in my business, some trainers enjoy speaking to
groups of 20, others are comfortable with 100, others like an
audience of 500, still others want 5000 people or more in
attendance. Is there is a difference in income between these
trainers? You bet there is.
Who are you? How do you want to live your life? How do you want
to play the game?
Do you want to play in the big leagues or in little league, in
the majors or the minors?
Will you play big or play small? It's your choice.
But hear this. It's not about you. It's about living your
mission. It's about living true to your purpose. It's about
adding your piece of the puzzle to the world. It's about serving
others.
Most of us are so stuck in our egos that everything revolves
around "me, me and more me." But again, it's not about you, it's
about adding value to other people's lives. It's your choice.
One road leads to being broke and miserable, the other leads to
money, meaning, and fulfillment.
It's time to stop hiding out and start stepping out. It's time
to stop needing and start leading. It's time to start being the
star that you are. It's time to share your gifts and value in a
BIG way. There could be thousands or even millions of people
counting on you. Are you up to the challenge for our society and
our children's sake? Let's hope so.
5. RICH PEOPLE ARE BIGGER THAN THEIR PROBLEMSPoor people are smaller than their problems.
Getting rich is not a stroll in the park. It's a journey that is
full of obstacles, twists, and detours. The simple fact is,
success is messy. The road is fraught with pitfalls and that's
why most people don't take it. They don't want the hassles, the
headaches and the responsibilities. In short, they don't want
the problems.
Therein lies one of the biggest differences between rich people
and poor people. Rich and successful people are bigger than
their problems while poor and unsuccessful people are smaller
than their problems.
Poor people will do almost anything to avoid anything that looks
like it could be a problem. They back away from challenges. The
irony is that in their quest to make sure they don't have
problems, they have the biggest problem of all... they're broke
and miserable.
The secret to success is not to try to avoid or shrink your
problems; it's to grow yourself so you're bigger than any
problem.
Imagine a "level 2" character person looking at a "level 5"
problem. Would this problem appear to be big or small? The
answer is that from a "level 2" perspective, a "level 5" problem
would seem BIG.
Now imagine a "level 8" person looking at the same "level 5"
problem. From this person's perspective, is this problem big or
small? Magically the identical problem is now a SMALL problem.
And for a "level 10" person, it's NO problem at all. It's just
an everyday occurrence, like getting dressed or brushing your
teeth. Whether you are rich or poor, playing big or playing
small, problems do not go away. If you're breathing, you will
always have so-called "problems."
What's important to realize is that the size of the problem is
never the real issue. What matters is the size of you!Remember, your wealth can only grow to the extent that you do!
The idea is to grow yourself to a place where you can overcome
any problems that get in your way of creating wealth and keeping
it once you have it.
Rich people do not back away from problems, do not avoid
problems and do not complain about problems. Rich people are
financial warriors and when a warrior is confronted with a
challenge they shout: BRING IT ON!
6. RICH PEOPLE FOCUS ON OPPORTUNITIESPoor people focus on problems.
Rich people see potential growth. Poor people see potential
loss.
Rich people focus on the rewards. Poor people focus on the
risks.
It's the age-old question, is the glass half empty or half full?
We're not merely talking about "positive thinking" here, we're
talking about a habitual way of seeing the world. Poor people
come from fear. Their minds are constantly scanning for what's
wrong or what could go wrong in any situation. Their primary
mindset is "What if it doesn't work?" or, more bluntly, "It
won't work." Rich people, as we discussed earlier, take
responsibility for creating their life and come from the
mindset, "It will work because I'll make it work."
In the financial world, as in most other arenas, risk is
directly proportionate to reward; generally, the higher the
reward, the higher the risk. People with rich mentalities are
willing to take that risk.
Rich people expect to succeed. They have confidence in their
abilities, they have confidence in their creativity and they
believe that should the "doo-doo hit the fan", they can always
make their money back or succeed in another way.
On the other hand, poor people expect to fail. They lack
confidence in themselves and in their abilities, and should
things not work out, they believe it would be catastrophic.
You have to do something, buy something, or start something in
order to succeed financially. You have to see opportunities for
profit all around you instead of focusing on ways of losing
money.
